Week #2 Search Engine Optimization Jobs

 In a world where almost, if not all aspects of business is absolutely and inevitably becoming more and more integrated and essentially becoming one with technology, my initial reaction to the information from the multiple LinkedIn articles and search results from our quick lookup of search engine optimization was far from surprise. We have transcended the days where technological integration with business being considered a luxury, and are now and forever in the future, living in a world where it is necessary.

Digital marketing clocked in at number four on the 2021 list of top 5 hard skills, which shows great evidence that digital marketing has really grown in terms of importance and how more people are beginning to take it more seriously than they did 10 years ago. Before, if a middle or top line manager had a daughter with a ton of Instagram followers, they wouldn't think twice about asking them for pointers or advice on how to go about digital marketing, whereas now, it truly has been boiled down to a science and a very difficult one to master, let alone understand. More and more people are doing more and more daily tasks on their phones/computers, so the digital net will prove to be the one that'll catch the most fish.

In the United States alone, a grand total of 20,811 search engine optimization results came up, which theoretically, means there's about 416 search engine optimization jobs per state. And that was just a simple "search engine optimization" search, but when looking at the results, that phrase is really just a big umbrella covering a plethora of different titles within the category, analyst, consultant, specialist, manager, lead, the list goes on. 

As more and more people spend more time online, search engine optimization will become more and more crucial in forecasting and understanding a consumer's behavior, and additionally web analytics and search engine marketing to name a couple. In the end, there's no denying the unstoppable growing relevance search engine optimization will have on all our lives in the business world, and we are witnessing its inception first hand when we do something as simple as looking up job opportunities for it on sites like LinkedIn.
